Social Work Services

“Hello, i'm going to talk about health and social care.

We aim to support deaf blind adult in the Bristol area.

We offer support in the context of BSL to English translations.

It could be making a call to organise a doctors appointment or making a referral to another service provider.

If you need to meet an official, one of our customer service officers will support you in that process.

If for example, you recieve a letter form Bristol city council and have difficulty in understanding it because of the level of english, one of our customer services officers will translate it into your first language.

If the letter requires a phone call, again our customer services officer wil make that call.

if you need additional support like Homecare Care or Persoanl Care, a customer services officer will take your details which will be passed onto a social worker. The social worker will then meet you and make an assessment of your needs.

If you meet the criteria, you may be provided with your service requirements. There may be a cost implication.

If you need other kinds of support like getting involved with social or group activities, meeting people and building up your confidence, our customer services officer will point you in the right direction.

If you need more information linked to all the services i've mentioned, please log on the Bristol City Council Website which has sign language access and written text.
